Metric Glossary // Edition 001

Metrics

DropDex studies each drop through build, predrop, and postdrop windows. The metrics below describe the measurable traits used to generate card scores and archive rankings.

Analysis Windows

Every drop has a before and after.

DropDex compares the build, the immediate predrop moment, and the first seconds after impact. This lets the model detect both the drop body and the transition into it.

Build

From build start to drop time. Captures the full buildup into impact.

Predrop

The final seconds before impact. Captures fakeouts, silence, pressure, or setup.

Postdrop

The first seconds after impact. Captures the hit and immediate drop body.

Core Traits

The front-line card stats.

Weight

Low-end heaviness from sub and bass energy after the drop.

Shock

How dramatically energy changes when the drop hits.

Brightness

High-frequency impact, presence, and sharpness.

Aggression

Low-end force plus high-frequency attack.

Tension

Recognizes both vacuum-style energy removal and pressure-style buildup.

Charge-Up

Measures ramp, riser intensity, sub withdrawal, predrop silence, and drum/frequency movement.

Production Layer

How the drop is built.

Width

Stereo spread after the drop.

Attack

Transient strength and contrast.

Density

Rhythmic/event density after the drop.

Texture

Distortion, grit, and roughness.

Sustain

How consistently the drop maintains energy.

Flow

How strongly postdrop energy continues relative to the predrop.

Style Traits

Drop identity signals.

Groove

Movement, rhythm, flow, and body.

Nasty

Grit, filth, harshness, texture, and attack.

Melt

Wide, sustained, enveloping sound design.

Technical

Density, precision, attack, and brightness movement.

Cinematic

Scale, width, tension, atmosphere, and payoff.

Wonk

Weird, dense, textured, attack-heavy movement.

Mass

Wall-of-sound size, low-end sustain, width, and texture.

Musicality

Melodic presence, harmonic richness, tonal motion, and payoff.

Classes

Primary and secondary archetypes.

Every drop receives a primary and secondary class based on its strongest identity scores.

Impact Cannon

Impact-heavy drops with strong shock, weight, and aggression.

Pressure Engine

Drops that build or sustain pressure.

Vacuum Striker

Drops that remove energy before impact and strike hard.

Filth Monster

Dirty, gritty, aggressive sound design.

Technical Weapon

Precise, dense, attack-heavy production.

Groove Driver

Movement, rhythm, flow, and body.

Cinematic

Wide, atmospheric, build-heavy drops.

Melodic Weapon

Music-forward drops where musicality is both high and dominant.

Rarity & Badges

Collectible signals.

Rarity is based on DropDex rank inside the frozen card pool. Badges are top-percentile trait achievements.

Mythic

Top 1% of the card pool.

Legendary

Top 5% of the card pool.

Epic

Top 15% of the card pool.

Rare

Top 35% of the card pool.
